We all are facing the worsening weather condition nowadays with pollution at dangerous levels. To counter this we all either move towards a greener area like hills & forests or make a green zone in our homes. But there are few things to keep in mind while keeping plants as not all plants are good in feng-shui & vastu.

Inauspicious Plants

  • 1 - Cactus or similar thorny plants: These are not good inside the house. Their thorns give poison arrows in all directions, increasing friction & pain in our personal lives. If you already have them, place them outside your main door so that they prevent negativity from entering. But while shopping for new plants, these should be avoided.

  • 2 - Bonsai plants: Though they may look pretty to some, these plants give stunted growth to inmates. They should be avoided completely as your career or profession may get stuck, leading to poverty.

  • 3 - Cotton plants: These fluffy cotton-producing plants are not suitable for homes as they bring sorrow, sadness & funeral rights. This increases negativity at home & brings restlessness.

  • 4 - Milk-producing plants (like Euphorbia): These are like bleeding plants. They are unsafe for children & pets as they carry toxins. They bring stress, poverty & ill health. Best to avoid & not keep them in your garden.

Auspicious Plants

  • 1 - Tulsi: One of the best plants to keep in the garden. It brings good health, spirituality & harmony. It also has medicinal qualities & should be in every household.

  • 2 - Bamboo: A bunch of 9 stems tied with a red ribbon is a feng-shui cure for wealth & growth. Known for resilience and highly recommended.

  • 3 - Money Plant: As the name suggests, it brings prosperity & financial growth. It must be healthy with lush green leaves, kept on a stand so that the leaves spread beautifully.

  • 4 - Jade Plant: Known for its thick coin-like leaves, it brings success & good fortune. Very auspicious.

  • 5 - Peace Lily: An air purifier that brings peace, harmony & hope. Very beautiful & calming in appearance.

  • 6 - Lavender: A soothing and positive vibrational plant. Has medicinal properties & its purple colour symbolises wealth. Brings peace & tranquility.

  • 7 - Aloe Vera: A medicinal plant bringing positive vibes & good luck. Wards off negative energy & is a good addition to the garden.

All green plants are best placed in the East & South-East directions as these are lucky directions bringing growth & wealth.

Keep your house filled with these positive plants & breathe easy in their presence. The element of plants in feng-shui is wood. They represent growth & upward movement in life. But they need maintenance & health monitoring. Keep the recommended ones around you to be wealthy & healthy in your own home.
