5 ways to know-Vastu Shastra is a sacred science which follows traditional architecture.
It is all about balancing the five elements - earth, water, fire , air & space- to create a harmonious environment
If you have been feeling unusually restless or experiencing blockages or break down of home appliances Or just want to ensure your home is a sanctuary of positivity, here is a quick 5step checklist to evaluate your space.
1- The Main door
This is the gateway of our sanctuary, as this is the Mouth of the house where all the energy enters.
How to check its vibe?
Stand at your main door & look out. Is it facing North East or North East
These are considered the most auspicious directions for growth & good health.
The red flag 🚩
If your entrance is narrow, cluttered with shoes, old newspapers or dustbins, you are essentially choking the Positive energy before it can enter.
2- The kitchen: Managing the fire element.
The kitchen represents the fire element which rules wealth & health both.
Checking the Vibe
Is your kitchen located in the south east (Agni corner)?
Do you face east while cooking ? If yes, then your vitality meter is high as this alignment is believed to bring good health to the family.
Unclogged burners bring wealth in the house, so check its hygiene.
The Red flag 🚩
We all know Fire & water are enemies. If your stove & sink are placed next to each other or directly opposite, it can cause domestic friction or financial Leakage
3- The Master bedroom -
The master bedroom is the stability zone (earth element) & impacts the decision making power of the head of the house.
The checklist
Your master bedroom should be in the South west sector/corner of the house. When you sleep your head should point south for deep restorative sleep or East for intellectual growth
The Red Flag 🚩
Never sleep with your head pointing North. Scientifically & spiritually the magnetic pull can disrupt your blood circulation and cause restless nights.
4- Sunlight & Ventilation -
Breathe of the house
A Vastu Compliant home must breathe. Stagnant air leads to stagnant life
The Check - Walk through your home at 10 AM. Is there ample Natural light from the North & East direction?
These directions brings in the positive morning healing UV rays.
The Red Flag 🚩
If the Northeast sector is dark or has windowless corners, it is a major Vastu dosh.
This area should be kept the lightest & cleanest as this is Ishan kon (God’s corner).
5- Shapes & Symmetry -
Vastu favours regular Geometric shapes as they hold the energy efficiently
The check -Look at the layout of your house & your individual rooms. Are they square or rectangular?
The Red Flag 🚩 Irregular shaped rooms (L shaped, circular or with missing corners) can cause energy disruption. For example, if you have a missing corner in south-west, it will give instability in career or relationship.
Quick fixes for Non Compliance-
If your home fails a few of these tests, don’t panic! You don’t always have to break walls or do massive corrective structural changes. You can do the following instead -
Use Mirrors- On East or *North walls to Expand the space & attract wealth.
Colors - Use light, earthy tones like cream or beige in the South west to enhance the earth energy, leading to financial stability.
Plants - Use plants in the East sector for growth & income. Lush green plants with rounded leaves are the best.
Metals - Use round metallic objects in the West & Northwest for helping the patriarch’s health & wealth.
Water - A small fountain or a picture of a water fall in the north sector gives income inflow. This tip not to be used in bedrooms
