The planets ruling the sign of Rahu and Ketu are called the Karmic control planets. For example, if Rahu is in Aries then Mars becomes the karmic control planet for that person. And as Ketu is always diagonally opposite Rahu ie Libra then Venus becomes the second karmic control planet. Ketu 's depositor stands for our past life whereas Rahu's depositor stands for our present life.
The Karmic control planets have strong implications depending on where they are placed in the chart and aspects they make with other planets. If these two planets are placed in the same house they make the person Great even if no other planetary combination is there to form any Yoga as per the oriental text of Hindu Astrology. If this Yoga is afflicted, the person born will still be Great but will destroy the person also. Prime Minister of Pakistan, Bhutto is an example.
