Rahu and Ketu are feared for what they are capable of doing, but they are not to be feared so much as understood correctly. These are the shadow planets and not real planets, so whichever sign they are placed in they take the quality of that planet. For example, if Rahu is in Gemini then mercury becomes its dispositor. So the dispositors of Rahu and Ketu become karmic control planets for us. They create problems when their dispositors are malefic planets like Saturn and Mars. Whenever the word karma comes in astrology it is to make a person rectify what he has done or currently doing. So first understanding and then following the right path is the key to peace.
