The twelve animal signs of chinese astrology reveal fascinating insight into a person's character , lifestyle and emotional makeup.

According to chinese legend, the order of the twelve signs was determined by Buddha. He had invited all animals in the kingdom for a meeting but only 12 attended. 

The first animal to arrive was the talkative Rat followed by the serious , enduring and hardworking Ox.

The royal Tiger came next followed by the cautious Rabbit.

The outspoken Dragon and philosophical Snake were followed by the physically active Horse along with an artistic Goat.

The naughty Monkey was next followed closely by the showy Rooster.

Last to join them were the watchful Dog and the meticulous lucky Pig.

Buddha gave each animal a year of its own and its cyclic in nature . So an entire year is of a particular animal and as the saying goes , "This is the animal that hides in your heart".
